Hello

Hi, we are Jordan [Interior Designer] and Tony [General Contractor] of TJ’s Dwellings. Partners in business and in life. We love building, creating and making. In our previous lives we worked in advertising but stronger passions for design, woodwork and crafting lead us to start a small business. We started in 2021 converting vans and travel trailers with the goal to one day work on homes and hospitality. Through our experience creating homes in such small spaces, we learned a tremendous amount about spatial planning and functional design. Our goal is to help our clients live more simply and more beautifully so they can focus on the things that really matter in life.

We specialize in functional space planning and storied design. We have a passion for building with reclaimed materials, restoring reused furniture & products, and decorating with a life-time mindset versus a seasonal one. We believe that our homes are a sacred space and that happy, healthy, beautiful homes should be attainable for everyone. Our experience converting vans and travel trailers lead us to think in square inches, not square feet. We are wickedly creative with budgets and because we offer so many services and skills in-house, we can figure out ways to make big design impacts at most spend levels. We are inspired and driven by nature and the persistent urge to rethink, redesign and reuse. We practice sustainable sourcing, deconstruction, material recovery, recycling, and repurposing of old materials. We are spoiled with amazing local reuse and thrift stores in the Portland area and we love supporting and partnering with them on all of our projects. From tools, to materials, to furniture and fixtures, using locally sourced, renewable materials and shopping second-hand all play a huge role in our process. Working with clients whose values align with ours allows us to do greatly creative things.

Our work will always be catered uniquely to your needs and through our process, we’ll build a relationship that will outlast the project's completion. No project is too small, too big or too weird. From converting box trucks to full home remodels, to single room renovations, whatever the project, we are so excited to continue doing this work and serving one of our favorite places in the world, Portland, OR.

Outside of building and designing, we are also students of regenerative agriculture, working on a small farm and future u-pick orchard where our workshop is located. We love spending time with our loved ones, including all our animals! We have 2 dogs (Luna & Dante), 6 sheep (Gladys, Oreo, Sweet Pea, Cookie, Blackberry, Pie), and 14 chickens who are all named Jerry.
